    ** Effective July 1, 2015 and pursuant to AB89 the Legislature enacted a change to NRS 631.240 and NRS 631.300 with regards to the Western Regional Examining Board's (WREB) clinical examination.  The above referenced statutes no longer requires the applicant to have successfully passed the WREB clinical examination within the five years preceding the date of the application.  If you have successfully passed the Western Regional Examining Board you may be eligible for dental or dental hygiene licensure in the State of Nevada.**


    **Effective May 16, 2018 the Board requires completion of all sections (including Prosthodontics) of the Western Regional Examining Board Dental Clinical Examination.**

      NSBDE Memorandum on Temporary Licenses for Dentist and Dental Hygienist

      Under the authority of the Governor’s Declaration of Emergency Directive 011, the Board has issued a memorandum announcing certain changes to the statues and rules governing the licensing of dentist and dental hygienist: 

      Temporary Licensure – Dental and dental hygiene school graduates who are unable to take the clinical examination but meet all other licensure requirements are eligible to receive a temporary license.

      NSBDE Memorandum regarding Temporary Unrestricted Licenses (Dental and Dental Hygiene)

      On September 15, 2020, the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners voted to approve the temporary use of manakin-based clinical examination for the American Board of Dental Examiners (“ADEX”)  dental and dental hygienist examinations, and the CompeDont tooth for restorative procedures testing under ADEX. Applicants who complete these ADEX alternatives to live-patient clinical examination from May 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 and who have completed all other requirements for licensure by examination (NRS 631.230/NRS 631.290) will be eligible for a temporary unrestricted license.
